What products does FreeWill offer?

FreeWill offers several products to help you draft your own will, document your funeral wishes, create a Durable Financial Power of Attorney, Advance Healthcare Directives, and residents in California can also create revocable living trusts. You can view all of our available products here.

You also have the option to set beneficiaries for your non-probate assets, all for free! FreeWill is always developing new online tools to make it easier for you to take care of the people you love and the causes you care about.

Are documents made in FreeWill valid?

Yes! With the help of top trusts & estates, and experts from across the country the estate planning products offered by FreeWill were designed to comply with each state's legal requirements. When you complete our online questionnaire and print out your Will, Trust, Beneficiary Designation, Advance Healthcare Directive, or Durable Financial Power of Attorney, a set of easy-to-follow instructions will be provided, as well. Those instructions will explain how to finalize your document, whether witnesses and/or a notary will be required, and any other steps you will need to take to make it valid.

These charities believe in our mission to help everyone make sure the people they love and the causes they care about are taken care of. They also believe, as we do, that giving a gift to charity in your will can be an incredibly powerful way to leave an impact.

Can I use FreeWill if I live outside of the United States?

It depends on where your property is located. FreeWill currently creates wills that are valid for the disposition of property located in the fifty states and DC. So, even if you live abroad, you can use FreeWill to direct the distribution of assets you have that are located within a U.S. state or DC. However, any property of yours that is located abroad will have to be addressed in a separate will that is valid for the region in which that property is located. You should consider consulting with a local lawyer to find out more.
